Going green? Naturally

At Maryculter House we share your admiration for the beautiful countryside that surrounds us. Our commitment to keeping it that way has been recognised by the Green Tourism business scheme, which has awarded us silver status.

It’s a work in progress though. We are continuously striving towards reducing our environmental impact even further.

We pledge to reduce the amount of electricity, food waste and water produced or used by 5 – 10% annually. We plan to achieve this by rolling out a raft of sustainable practices, from in-room recycling to the abolition of single-use plastic, replacing our plastic bathroom minis with ceramic decanters.

What’s more, all our heating and hot water is generated by a biomass system, fed by wood pellets from sustainable forests.

We also provide charging points for electric vehicles. Currently we have two Tesla charge points and one generic vehicle 7kw charge point.
