Aberdeenshire-based Maryculter House has appointed three new senior members of staff as the hotel continues with the second phase of the six-figure refurbishment plan announced last year.
The hotel welcomes new Wedding Co-ordinator, Jocelyn Reid, Food and Beverage Manager, Hannah Moir and Head of Housekeeping Dinali Nadishani to the already 40 strong team, led by MD, Peter Walker.
Wedding Co-ordinator Jocelyn joins Maryculter House having gained a wealth of events and wedding co-ordination experience during her time with Hilton and Copthorne hotels. She said: “I’m really excited to meet all our lovely couples, and to be helping make their dream day a reality in the stunning setting here at Maryculter House.”
New Food and Beverage Manager, Hannah Moir, has a very strong background in service delivery and training, having previously worked in other local establishments. As she embarks on this next exciting step in her career Hannah said: “Becoming part of the Maryculter family is the realisation of an ambition for me and an ideal platform for my own continued development. I am delighted to be joining such a forward-thinking hotel that is committed to developing the knowledge and skills of its team.
Dinali Nadishani takes up the role of Head of Housekeeping, having been part of the opening team of the Fife Arms in Braemar since its launch in 2018. Dinali said: “Having previously worked with Mr Walker before, I am thrilled to take up the opportunity to work with him again, particularly in such a beautiful, historical venue that has an on-going refurbishment plan.”
Peter Walker, Managing Director of Maryculter House said: “This is an exciting time for Maryculter House, after the devastating effects of lockdown on the hospitality industry. We are extremely proud to be developing our team and enhancing our guests’ experience. As a family-owned business in the North-east, we must continue to build on our offering. We are confident that the refurbishment will play a considerable part in diversifying the hotel and attracting new guests.
“Investing in our people has always been a priority. I’m extremely passionate about developing the hospitality workforce and in turn the future of our industry. As a team we’re excited to welcome our new members of the Senior team.
“We look forward to welcoming our guests back to the hotel for dining, overnight stays and weddings, our new seasonal menus are being served and you can view them on our website, and as always our dishes are created using ingredients from local suppliers where possible.”
The latest phase of the hotel’s refurbishment has included the historic Great Hall, preserving its timeless original features, the entrance area for the hotel’s Templar’s Suite and an additional seven bedrooms, totalling seventeen refurbished bedrooms.
Once complete, the full refurbishment project, will see the hotel on South Deeside Road have all its 40 bedrooms and public areas transformed as part of this significant project to strike the perfect balance between tradition and adapting to the modern-day traveller.
